We exist to empower single mother led families so they can keep their children home where they are loved and belong.

There is a tragic trend in Uganda of children being moved into orphanages not because they don't have families or because their families don't love them, but because their families struggle to meet their basic needs. We work along side these families to help provide them with basic necessities and a safe home.
​
Most importantly we believe in sharing the love of Christ in a tangible way. We see serving these families as an extremely powerful way of sharing Christ tangible love with our neighbors in Uganda.
​
The ultimate goal is to keep families together and to love them so well that they come to know and love Christ.
​
We love because He first loved us and we love so He may get much glory!

ABOUT US
Founder & Director
Emily moved to Uganda in 2012. She serves as our state side director and is mother to her two adopted daughters Eva and Lilly. She currently resides in the US while her youngest daughter is receiving medical care.
Assistant Director
Phiona began working with Emily in 2014 and the two became fast friends. They quickly discovered they both had a heart to serve single mothers in Uganda and decided to start Wanika Ministries together. Phiona also has two daughters Jemimah and Sumayah.
